Wayne and I met in May 2018. Just five months later, we opened the Wigwam Western Summit on the Mohawk Trail. The property had been abandoned for more than a decade, and we lived in very rough conditions while working together to bring it back to life.
During those difficult early days at the Wigwam, Wayne promised me that one day he would build us a beautiful log cabin of our own.
In 2019, we found this parcel of land on Florida Mountain and bought it with that dream in mind.
Whenever we could get away from the Wigwam, we came here together to clear the woods, carve the driveway and slowly uncover the view. Wayne grew up locally and understood the mountain terrain. He knew where the cabin should sit, which direction it should face and how the land could open toward Mt. Greylock and the surrounding mountains
As the trees began to come down, the view appeared - and so did the possibility of the home he had promised. Then the building began.

What began as a promise slowly became real. We cleared the land, built the foundation, raised the log walls and worked through snow, cold, mud and more than a few challenges along the way. Watching the cabin take shape was unforgettable because every stage represented something we had imagined together years earlier.

Greylock Cabin was originally built as the home Wayne promised me in those early days at the Wigwam. Today, we're happy to share this special place with guests who come to the Berkshires looking for peace, mountain views, fresh air and a little bit of the life we fell in love with here.
